Deny Self & Walk With Him (Judgment and Justice Go Hand in Hand)

I’ve shared that for our Wednesday night E-Bible Studies, the “E” is two-fold. It represents eternity as God enlarges our territory with Kingdom Truth. We’ve been studying the character of God and we know Him from the very beginning in Genesis as Creator. We understand that life comes from God. In Genesis 2:15-17, we see God’s hand upon Adam to carry out purpose for His creation, “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” As we continue reading through Genesis chapter 3, there was an ultimate consequence to Adam’s sin, being put out of the garden.
God released judgment and justice in the beginning because of man’s sin: spiritual death was birthed when Adam disobeyed. Because of His love for us – the ultimate gift of the redemptive blood of Jesus has washed us clean from our past once we accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. But let’s be clear, only Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. We don’t have a license to freely sin. Because of His love for us, His judgment and justice go hand in hand. We have to deny the “self” in us, be still and hear His voice. “And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.” (Psalm 50:6)
One example is Noah in Genesis 6. Not only did Noah find grace in the eyes of the LORD, we find that Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations and he walked with God. When we commune with God, we can walk with God. We have a choice: to sin and experience God’s judgment or obey and experience His justice. (Yes, God extends grace, but take heed, we can’t abuse His grace!)

When judgment comes, we’re justified through Jesus' blood! His covenant of salvation and victory's established! Let’s not be lulled away by lusts of the flesh. Know the Truth of who God is and stand upon the rock of Jesus. “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.” (Prov. 3:13)
